Join us for Easter
Join us at St Stephen’s Coorparoo this Easter to remember and reflect on Jesus’ death on the cross and triumph over the grave. We are offering a range of services and invite you to join in as many opportunities as will be meaningful and helpful to you.
THURSDAY 28 MARCH
Last Supper Remembrance Meal (6pm in the Church Hall)
An opportunity to reflect on the tradition Jewish ‘Passover’ meal. Light refreshments will be served through the course of the service, finishing with a short communion service together. This event is suitable for adults and children.
FRIDAY 29 MARCH
Good Friday services (7.30am and 9.30am in the Church)
The 7.30am service will be a traditional service where we remember the last hours of Jesus’ life and his death. The 9.30am service will be a contemporary, interactive service featuring an Easter garden display in the church. There will be hot cross buns and morning tea to enjoy after both services.
SATURDAY 30 MARCH
Tenebrae service (7pm in the Church)
A quiet, reflective and deeply moving service where we will hear the story of Jesus’ final hours set amongst candlelight and song. Traditionally called a service of shadows, it will draw us into a time to pause and be still.
SUNDAY 31 MARCH
Easter Sunday services (7.30am and 9.30am)
Easter Sunday will be a joyful celebration of Jesus’ resurrection. There will be hot cross buns at both services, as well as an Easter Egg Hunt for the children at the 9.30am service.
