For a few weeks now we have been saying that the hall project is close to being finished and we had reported a projected completion date of mid February [checks calendar] – which is now. At the construction meeting this week, the builder and architect described several minor trade delays and necessary processes and inspections that will be progressively completed over the coming weeks in order for the building to be ‘handed over’. We now expect to begin occupying the building from the end of February/early March.
Works undertaken by the builder this week:
Electrical fit off (power points, lights, etc); render applied to eternal block walls; internal and external painting ongoing; timber trim detail applied to end gable; grab rails installed in accessible toilet; final plumbing fit off inside kitchen; fridge delivery.
Coming up in the week ahead:
Finalise internal painting; external painting ongoing; install acoustic panels to ceiling; install ceiling fans; finish tiled skirting around toilets; carpet tiles to meeting rooms; manufacture handrails to stairs and ramps
